Chow Kit Run This Weekend! Including Walking to the beat of Busker Wearing Creative Masks!

Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) will be holding its first ever Chow Kit Run, in which participants will be running, jogging, or walking to the beat of buskers on the street while wearing creative masks of their choice right in the heart of the city.

With the report on Richard Huckle case that shocked the entire nation, YCK did a creative e- campaign named #Topeng & #Mask last year which uses masks artistically to symbolize the difficulty to identify pedophiles amongst strangers.

As part of the continuity, participants in Chow Kit Run will be running through city streets while wearing creative super hero masks of their choice right in the heart of the city. The message this time around: Be a Hero for every child in the country.



Based on the concept of a fun run, Chow Kit Run not only aspires to create an inclusive and meaningful community experience, but also to raise awareness about the hidden gems of Chow Kit such as our own wet market, food outlets, local businesses and wholesalers.



The starting and finishing point of the 6km journey will be at .Ialan Batu Girl Primary School (Sekolah Kebangsaan (P) Jalan Batu) on Saturday, 8th of April, 2017. Participants will be passing through various checkpoints throughout Kuala Lumpur such as Sunway Putra Mall, PWTC and the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) building.

However, the fun does not stop at the finish line! Participants and outsiders can keep the good vibes going and enjoy the rest of the morning at the Chow Kit Festival, which will be held at the school field. Local singer-songwriter and official Chow Kit Run ambassador Liyana Fizi, famous for her hit song Jatuh, will be holding a special concert, together with the presence of another 2 official Chow Kit Run Ambassadors, Miss Malaysia 2010 Thanuja Ananthan and F1 racer Alex Yoong.



There will also be a variety of good grub from food trucks, an art bazaar, booths by the sponsors of Chow Kit Run, and also a lucky draw with chances to win exciting prizes!
